Construction of a New School!

It was been our dream since we first started Heroes School in 2015 to have a purpose built inclusive school of excellence. We opened our doors with with just seven children, and have now expanded to more than forty children. The house that we initially rented quickly became too small and we were forced to start renting the house next door in order to accommodate all of our students. Again we have reached capacity, which has resulted in us having to turn students away who would benefit greatly from attending our school. Simply put, there are just too many children that need our help and not enough space!

The main building at our current location – which has become much too small!

After a lot of hard work and with the support of some very generous donors, we were able to purchase a plot of land and now have the permits to build a school of our own: Heroes Centre for Children with Disabilities. Having our own school will allow us to increase our enrolment and accept even more children who have the right to a quality education and rehabilitation. We have designed our new school to be fully accessible for children with disabilities. It will be an inspiring environment in which children will be able to learn, receive the rehabilitation they need, eat nutritious meals, build friendships, and dream about their futures!

We currently have our construction permit and are in the process of finding the right construction company to work with us. While our generous donors have gotten us to the point that we can start construction, we are still raising funds for the entire project. If all goes as planned, we hope to to start construction in March. We will be sure to keep you posted when we break ground and quite literally start building our dream!
